Visitor Policy

Thank you for choosing Medical Associates Hospital to be your main health care provider.

Medical Associates Hospital has taken extra precautions to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and staff due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases within the community.
Please note that this is a temporary change due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

All patients/visitors must be screened, have their temperature checked and sanitized their hands before entry.

Children 12 years and under are not permitted to visit any patients who are admitted on the ward.

Masks are to be worn all times throughout the entire hospital.
Anyone wearing a face shield must also wear a face mask.

  • Maximum of three (3) visitors will be allowed to enter the hospital to see a patient per day.
  • Only one (1) visitor will be permitted at a time.
  • Visitors must show proof of their vaccination status and a copy of their ID card. (electronic copies are accepted)
  • Unvaccinated visitors or visitors with no proof of vaccination will be asked to undergo an antigen test to enter.
  • Vaccinated persons will be permitted to visit for a maximum of one (1) hour.
  • Unvaccinated persons will be permitted to visit for a maximum of twenty (20) minutes.
  • Visitors that are staying with the patient will be asked to undergo a Covid-19 antigen test.

Only one (1) visitor is allowed with a patient during their visit.

If the patient is fully vaccinated and has no symptoms of Covid-19:
– Patient must present a copy of their vaccination record with a valid ID.
– Once the patient is deemed fully vaccinated (2 weeks after their last vaccination), they can proceed straight into Accident and Emergency without being swabbed.
– Patients that are being admitted from Accident and Emergency as an inpatient will need to undergo an antigen swab.

If the patient is fully vaccinated and has symptoms of Covid-19:
– Patient must present a copy of their vaccination record with a valid ID.
– The emergency doctor will decide which test is most suited to for symptoms – antigen or PCR. They must be swabbed and await their results prior entry to the hospital.

If the patient is not vaccinated or has not completed their vaccination course, regardless of their symptoms:
– The emergency doctor will decide which test is most suited to for symptoms – antigen or PCR. They must be swabbed and await their results before entering the Accident and Emergency Department.

Only one (1) visitor is allowed with a patient during their visit. The visitor MUST be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination together with a valid form of ID.

Vaccinated visitors may be allowed to interchange with one (1) other vaccinated relative or caretaker.

Unvaccinated visitors or visitors with no proof of vaccination will be asked to undergo an antigen test.

If the patient is found to have been dishonest or witheld information during the screening process, a portion of their deposit will be surrendered to santize the area.

The doctors’ consultation fee will be deducted from the deposit and any PPE used will also be charged to the patient.
