Oncology Nurse

An Oncology Nurse specializes in caring for patients diagnosed with cancer. They provide direct patient care, administer treatments such as chemotherapy, support patients and families emotionally, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive cancer.

Educational Requirements:
-Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
-Registered Nurse (RN) license (relevant to country / region).
-Specialized training or certification in oncology nursing (preferred).

Experience Requirements:
– 
Minimum 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience.
-Experience in oncology, chemotherapy administration, or palliative care is an asset.
-Soft skills- effective communication skills, high emotional intelligence, etc.
– Clinical skills- pain management, knowledge of cancer treatments, IV therapy, drug administration.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Hospital oncology units, outpatient clinics, or specialized cancer centers.
-Exposure to emotionally challenging situations.
-Handling of hazardous drugs. (requires PPE and strict protocols)
-Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
-Ability to stand for long periods.
-Manual dexterity for administering treatments.
-Ability to assist patients with mobility.

Responsible for preparing and serving meals to patients while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean bathrooms, sinks, toilets, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Disinfect beds, mattresses, and surfaces.
  • Clean elevators, staircases, rails, walls, windows, and ledges.
  • Dusting, mopping, and high dusting.
  • Clean private/rental offices and nurse’s home.
  • Wash, sort, press, and store linens.
  • Wash and pack doctor’s scrubs.

REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience

  • Minimum Secondary School education.
  • Experience in housekeeping / janitorial work is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

Responsible for preparing and serving meals to patients while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and serve meals according to menu and diet sheets.
  • Prepare morning beverages (tea, coffee, Milo, juice, etc.)
  • Assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
  • Collect patient meal orders and deliver trays.
  • Prepare salads and assist with meal plating.
  • Wash, dry, and store kitchen wares.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, appliances, and floors.
  • Dispose of garbage and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Balance and record daily grocery usage.
  • Assist with stock and supplies.
  • Replenish water and check for used wares in rooms.

REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience

  • Minimum Secondary School education.
  • Experience in a kitchen environment is an asset.
  • Culinary certification is an asset.

Qualifications & Experience Requirement:

Responsible for general maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation of hospital facilities to ensure a safe and functional environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check bulbs, rooms, and facility conditions.
  • Clean entrances, doors, windows, and outdoors.
  • Maintain car parks, drains, and outdoor areas.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage.
  • Wash ambulances and maintain equipment.
  • Assist departments as required.

Responsible for accurate billing, patient account management, and supporting financial processes within the hospital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and process patient bills.
  • Update and ensure billing accuracy.
  • Monitor doctor’s fees and follow up on payments.
